That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life...

Marcia's Baby Shower

On Saturday we had a baby shower for my little sister Marcia. She and her husband Steve are expecting their first baby this summer. I must say it is somewhat weird that my younger sister is having a child. But the excitment factor far outways the weird factor :). Doesn't she look amazing? She still doesn't weigh as much as I did when I was in college (those were bad years for weight gain, alot of stress and alot of food). And she can still wear a medium from Wal-mart!
Since we don't know if the baby is a boy or a girl we decided to play it safe with a pink and blue theme for decorations. Mom came up in the afternoon and helped me decorate my house and get some food ready. We also planted my flower garden (pictures to follow in a later post). Thanks Mom!
The shower started at 6:30pm. Marci had to work in the afternoon and then Dad went and picked her up in Whitby and drove her up here. I met them in Trout Creek and brought Marci the rest of the way to my house. I think we pulled in my driveway at about 6:29.
This is the coolest present Marci got. It's a diaper cake! My sister-in-law, Julie, made it. There were also spoons, teething rings, brushes, nail clippers, and a whole lot of other stuff stuck in it. Super idea! Julie is so creative at showers and parties.

My little cousin Isabella took a liking to Mark... She's one and a half. They had some good times playing.

I'd like to say I made the cake, but I can't. It still tasted great though.

Marci and the baby got many nice gifts. Lots of clothes and blankets, a bouncy seat, some books, and musical mobile, and too much other stuff to write. Thank you everyone for being so generous. It was a beautiful shower and I know Marcia appreciated all the gifts.

It was so nice to see all the friends and family who came to the shower. This is my nephew Joel (Leigh and Julie's baby). I think is the absolute cutest baby I've ever seen!!! Ok, so I'm his Aunt, but really, he is an awesome baby. He is so happy and smiles and laughs all the time. My brother can make him laugh so much. That's what he was doing in this picture... laughing at his dad. Of course I always did think Leigh had a funny face...haha. I guess Joel agrees with me.

Leigh and Julie stayed over in North Bay Saturday night and we took this picture on Sunday afternoon. I love my family! We were missing Steve... wish he could have been here (he had to work all night and couldn't make it).

...and Joel missed the picture too, but Sunday afternoon naps are always a good idea :-).
