That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life...

Tracts on Halloween

I do not celebrate Halloween because I am a Christian. There is nothing good about Halloween. Devils, witches, ghosts, goblins, etc. All these things carry a connotation of evil. Of course, kids dress up as princesses, fairies, and firemen too, but that does not justify all the evil about halloween. You can find lots of information on the internet about the pagan roots of Halloween. Here's a website if you are interested http://www.spiritwatch.org/Halloween.pdf.

So what does a Christian do on Halloween? Well, it's a great opportunity to hand out tracts. This year our Pastor got us a kids tract with a little game on it. One thing about Halloween is that people expect you to hand them stuff, so no one turns down a tract. It's great, and very rewarding. We handed out around 1,000 tracts this past Saturday. Hopefully people will read them and have more questions about the Gospel and Jesus.

And that is what a Christian does on the most evil day of the year!

If you're intersted in doing this next year individually or with your church Christian Book Distributors has a good selection of kids Halloween tracts. Check it out http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/easy_find?
