October

Happy First of October everyone!

Fall is here. Yesterday there was even a little of that white stuff coming out of the sky (I don't really want to say "snow" yet, but there it is). I've heard differing opinions on fall.

"It's too dreary."
"It rains all the time."
"The days are too short."
"The sun never shines anymore."
"It's cold!"

Here's my take on fall.

"It's dreary, BUT the colourful leaves brighten a gray day."
"It rains all the time, BUT it sounds so soothing on my roof. And it is better than snow :)."
"The days are too short, BUT there's nothing like a brisk walk on a crisp fall evening and then curlling up in a chair with a cup of warm hot chocolate (and half coffee) or tea and a really good book."
"The sun never shines anymore, BUT Psalm 84:11 says, 'the Lord God is a sun and shield.'"
"It's cold, BUT weren't you just complaining a few weeks ago about how hot it was!"

One of my favourite things about living here is that the seasons change. You know what they say, "A change is as good as a rest."

So again... Happy October.

P.S. My favourite holiday is in October too... no NOT halloween, Thanksgiving:).
