That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life...

Shopping, Starbucks, and Socializing.

First the shopping.

Yesterday, my Mom and I went to Sudbury to go shopping. It was fun! I was on a mission to buy a new winter coat, and a skirt, and whatever else I could find for a good price. I ended up not needing to get a skirt because Mom decided to go to the mall in North Bay Friday night and found some mega sales at Sears. So, she got me a new jean skirt. Skirt.... check.
Since Sears in North Bay was having a major sale we decided to go to make it our first stop in Sudbury. A slight let down. No skirts :(. And no coats in my size:(.
But, I did find a pair of boots for half of the lowest price... which equals "really cheap". Boots... check. And a sweater that I liked :).
Mom still wanted to look around Sears, but I wanted to check out a few other stores. I still needed to find a coat. Well, that took me only about 5 minutes cause the other stores had zero sales! This is a bad time of year to buy a winter coat, but I needed one! I headed back to Sears and found Mom in the children's department. After being disappointed about no skirts, she had finally found the sale she was looking for. Okay, she wasn't really looking for it, but she did pick up a few things for her grandbabies :). Can't say what it was in case my sister reads this blog because I think they are Christmas presents.
On to find a coat. I didn't want something black, which rules out pretty much every winter jacket in existence! And I didn't want brown. So the options were limited. I can't figure out why they don't make jackets in more exciting colours. I finally settled on a purple wool blend coat from Ricki's. It was 30% off, so not too bad of a deal. I know I could have gotten something way cheaper if I waited to February, but who wants to freeze half the winter. Coat... check.

That took pretty much the whole morning and Mom and I had been invited to a Birthday party for the after noon. We grabbed a little lunch then left the mall and headed for the box stores (North Bay has zero box stores). We really only had time to look around Winners because....

STARBUCKS!!!!! There is one Starbucks in Sudbury, in the Chapters. And let's just say Saturday afternoon is a slightly busy time there. So, after half and hour of waiting for our drinks, and several times wishing we could just steal the Pumpkin lattes that no one was claiming even though we had ordered vanilla lattes, we finally got our coffees! Mmmmm.... it really is probably a good thing there isn't a Starbucks in North Bay. I'd have to take on an extra day of work just to finance my coffee spending.

I just thought of my final "S" for my title. I new I'd get it after writing about the first two :). The Birthday Party! It was for a couple of girls in our church, and it was a fancy tea party. We wore gloves, sipped tea, ate goodies, and enjoyed the classical chamber music playing in the background. Well, I enjoyed the classical chamber music. I'm not sure if anyone else was really listening to it. One of the little girls was having a fun time making up ballet to it :). The girls got some lovely presents and we had a nice visit.

Then it was homeward bound. My Mom was hyper. Starbucks coffe and about 4 or 5 cups of tea at the party are not a good idea for her. But she kept me awake while I was driving back to North Bay.
