That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life...

Quieter

So far this week has been much quieter than last week. It's almost like I'm on vacation already! No recitals, no masterclasses, no university students. I just go to Brava and teach, and it is great! I think I really do have the best job ever!

Last night I went to the mall after work to pick up a few things. It wasn't too crazy, but I lost one of my gloves. Boo :(. I seem to have a knack for this because I lost a glove there last year too. I retraced my steps, but it was hopeless. Somewhere out there, there is a lonely purple glove with a snowflack on the cuff, helpless and lost. If you happen to see it, please help it find it's way back home!

I've been getting quite the array of gifts from my students. Student gifts can be fun... sometimes. I really don't expect them to buy me gifts. I have over 50 students, so if I were to buy each one of them something I'd be broke for Christmas! But I do appreciate their thoughtfulness! My most memorable student gift was several years ago when I still lived in Whitby. A voice student I had there gave me a ceramic cowboy boot. Yes you read correctly... "a cowboy boot." It screamed RE-GIFT! I had no idea what to do with it. It was just a small knick-knacky thing, but seriously... A COWBOY BOOT??? I didn't think I really looked the cowboy type. I hung on to it for a few years. What else could I do? I think it found a new home in a garbage bag when I was packing up to move back north.

Giving is so much fun! When I was a kid I just wanted to open my presents as fast as I could. I could never understand why my Mom and Dad would always just watch us a never open their presents until after we were all done. Now I get it, cause now I get more excited about watching them open their presents than I do about opening my own. The greatest gift came at Christmas, and I'm so glad that God gave it to me!

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
